Mrs. Lesa Bettencourt is the Head and Director of the Drama Program
at Glendale
Mrs. Lesa Bettencourt is serving in her eighth year as Director of the Glendale Drama Program, having previously taught Special Education
at Glendale seven years prior to taking over the program. She previously served as the Music Director at
Glendale in such productions as Lil’ Abner, Little Mary Sunshine, Grease, The Sound of Music, Cinderella, Bye Bye
Birdie, and Little Shop of Horrors. Directing duties include the shows Wizard of Oz,
Harvey, Footloose, Arsenic and Old Lace, Into the Woods, Rumors, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,
The Curious Savage, Godspell, And Then There Were None, Little Shop of Horrors, A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum, You Can't Take it With You, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Noises Off.
She has also served as Music Director for local productions at Vandivort and Springfield Little Theater.
She is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with degrees in Theatre and Special Education.
Lesa is married to Brian and they are the proud parents of "Little" Brian (a.k.a. LB), Gizmo, a very pampered
“Pug-inese” and Bailey, the Boston Terrier.

Mrs. Anna Hunt is the head Technical assistant
Mrs.
Anna Hunt (formerly Sullens) grew up in Springfield and attended all Springfield Public Schools. She became
involved in theatre at Hillcrest High School, doing both acting and back-stage work. She became more focused in technical
theatre in college and did a lot of crew work for SMSU shows, including being a master carpenter for a season of Tent Theatre.
She graduated from SMSU with a Bachelors of Science in Speech and Theatre Education in May 2005. After a brief relocation
to Kansas City, she has returned to the Springfield area and is excited about becoming re-involved in theatre.

Mr. Andy Johnston directs the Glendale High School Orchestras
Mr. Andy Johnston
directs the Glendale Orchestras and the orchestras at five different elementary schools: Wilder, Sequiota, Pershing, Field,
and Rountree. This is his twenty-fourth year teaching strings, his seventeenth teaching in public schools,
and his twelfth at Glendale. Andy graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he majored in both music
education and violin performance. He holds a Master of Music degree in viola performance from Missouri
State University, and he has done additional graduate work at Texas Tech University. Andy is also active
as a professional violist and violinist, and he taught Applied Viola at MSU in 2006. Andy is a member of
the Missouri Music Educators Association where he served as vice-president 2006-2008, the American String Teachers Association
where he serves on the state Board of Directors, and the National Speleological Society. He enjoys spending
time with his wife Elizabeth, who teaches orchestra at Pershing Middle School and plays violin professionally, and his children
Allison (a violinist) and Benjamin (a cellist). Andy enjoys an eclectic array of hobbies and interests,
including caving (cave exploration), memorizing the number pi (a totally useless pastime), and studying the literary
works of J.R.R Tolkien.
